Instructional Division teams are determined by age and weight. These teams are designed for the early player that is learning the fundamentals that will carry them through the remainder of their playing career
4 and 5 Year olds
7 and Under Max Weight 90lbs
9 and under Max Weight 100lbs
All American Division
All American Division teams are age based only. These teams are for players with a bit more experience, but are still building on the foundations learned in the Instructional Division.
10 year olds and under, no weight restrictions
11 year olds and under, no weight restrictions
12 year olds and under, no weight restrictions
13 year olds and under, no weight restrictions
Practice will begin July 22nd. The first week of practice is for conditioning. All players must receive 10 hours of conditioning before contact practice begins in week 2. .
Practice Days & Time
Practice will be held Monday through Thursday from 6:00 - 8:30 pm. Once school starts all practices will end at 8:00 pm and the practice days will be Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday.
All games are played on Saturday and usually follow the same order. The youngest teams (FLAG Football) will play first follwed by Tiny Mite, Mighty Mite, 10U, 11U, & 12U. All players are required to be at the field of play at least 1 and a half hour before the game.
Minimum Play Rule
Every player is guaranteed a minimum number of plays during a game. Each level has a different Minimum Play Rule and Field monitors record and verify the number of plays to ensure each player receives their minimum play requirements. Minimum Play Rule is based on the number of players that have been certified to play in the game, except Flag Football and Tiny Mite, . For the competitive teams (10U and up), the number of minimum plays will range from 6 to 10 plays. For Flag and Tiny Mites, all players must play a full quarter. All minimum play requirements must be satisfied by the end of the 3rd quarter.
All tackle football players, except for the "Unlimited" teams are required to have their weight certified by a League Official. The date will be provided once it is decided upon by the league. Players who do not make weight will have an additional opportunity to make weight. However, any player who has not been certified by weight and eligibility paperwork will not be able to participate in any games.
10U, 11U, & 12U are competitive teams and have the opportunity for post season play. Based on the team's success, they could advance to the local playoffs, then to regional, and the National Championships held at the Wide World of Sports complex during the 2nd week in December. Mighty Mite Teams may also participate in Championships at the Leagues and Organizations discretion.
The Union Cross Bobcats will provide a helmet, shoulder pads, game pants, and game jersey. Players will be responsible for cleats, integrated practice pants or girdle, a practice jersey (Black or Orange), socks (long black socks without any logos), and a mouthpiece. Parents may also purchase a helmet and/or shoulder pads through the organization. Any equipment not distributed by the Bobcats will need to be certified by a Bobcat’s official prior to equipment use.
All parents are asked to stay at least 20 feet from the sidelines at all times.
All Bobcat coaches and staff must submit and clear a background check prior to any engagement with the participants. Photo ID’s will be issued to the individuals who are authorized to engage with the participants.
Code of Conduct
The Bobcats expect that all participant and parents will adhere to the Bobcats Code of Conduct. Failure to adhere to the code of conduct can result in removal from the field of play and dismissal from the organization.
